Foundations of Beauty with Kira Derryberry, CPP

When: Monday, November 23, 2015
Where: Kira Derryberry Photography

Beauty Photography is back in a big way. Kira Derryberry will talk about how she markets to and plans a glamour session for her clients. Kira will go over her marketing and consultation methods and how she educates clients to prepare them for the shoot and the ever important final sale. Developing a plan by helping choose flattering wardrobe options, hair and make up for the session is imperative and the subject of the first portion of the program. Kira will also discuss posing, and working with a subject from start to finish. Finally, attendees will learn her in person sales process and getting that, “I can’t believe that’s me!” reaction from the client. If you are looking to add glamour and beauty to your business, this is the crash course for you!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

kiraderryberry_webWith a BA with a focus on Photography, Digital Art, and Web Design, Kira wins the award for longest degree title in the 2005 UA graduation program. Knowing she enjoyed photography, but not exactly knowing how to make money doing it, she fell back on her first career and took a job as a web designer for an advertising agency for 7 years. Though designing custom WordPress themes was fulfilling work, Kira jumped on the opportunity to return to photography in 2010, but this time as a full time business owner and has never looked back. In 2013 and 2014, Kira was voted Best of Tallahassee by Tallahassee Magazine readers and shared the title of Tallahassee Photographer of the Year from TPPG. Kira is also a two time IPC Silver Medalist. She currently serves as the President of the Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild and as a Councilor for the Professional Photographers of America. Nowadays when she’s not slinging a camera, Kira is a wife and mom who spends a ridiculous amount of time worrying about the career choices of Val Kilmer and other 1990’s pop culture phenomena.
