ABOUT THE SPEAKER

katiebellflowerHi! I am Kate Bellflower, owner of Bellflower Photography. I am a mother to three and a wife to a wonderful husband. I am incredibly quirky- I tend to be shy when I first meet new people, and after a bit I have absolutely no problem busting out in random dance moves. I have a not-so-secret love for Disney movies and all things ice cream. I am the world’s pickiest eater, different foods cannot touch on my plate, and I turn my plate as I eat. If you hate it when people quote movies as you watch them, don’t watch a movie with me!

Mary Beth Tyson | TPPG Mini Seminars

The Anatomy of a Wedding

SEMINAR DATE: MARCH 30TH, 2015 6-9PM AT KIRA DERRYBERRY PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO

Beginning at the inquiry process to the delivery of products, Mary Beth will go through the process of an entire wedding. She will give special attention to educating the client, dealing with expectations and setting up the timeline. We will then go through the highlights of that particular wedding to discuss how the wedding was shot, why certain choices were made while shooting, shooting mistakes at the wedding and how she overcame obstacles. She will share images that didn’t work and what finally made a particular shot work and end up in the gallery.

Turning Chicken Poop into Chicken Soup

Mary Beth will discuss how she takes the ugly and and turns it into the beautiful. Ugly spaces and venues, cluttered rooms, boring locations, timelines that fall behind and force you to shoot in the dark. She will share her approach to the most difficult situations and how she has (most of the time) made them work for her. In this portion of the presentation she will show you pictures of rooms that seemed nearly impossible to shoot in and the images she was able to capture in them. In order to get to a place where you are shooting in gorgeous locations must first begin with the ability to shoot in ugly places too.

Mary Beth will then share images of difficult rooms and venues, rainy days, shooting at night and how she made beautiful images in places nearly impossible to shoot. “Creating something out of nothing is what makes a photographer an artist.”

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

marybethtysonMary Beth has three boys under the age of four. She rarely shoots a wedding that doesn’t require a plane trip, but still feels like by day she’s a stay at home mom. Focusing on her true ability and passion to be a documentary wedding photographer is what helped her weed out he excess weddings and shoot a certain number of weddings per year for clients who want an experience beyond what they see on Pinterest.

Using flash might be one of the most daunting tasks of becoming a professional photographer, but we’re here to show you that it’s not as hard as you think. After purchasing probably every type of light on the market, we’re also here to tell you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to achieve these results. Using one or two off-camera lights will dramatically change the look of your work, and by the end of this program we don’t think you’ll be as scared.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

kyleneandryangayPhotography is what brought Kylene and Ryan together 11 years ago, and 3 years ago they combined their knowledge into Kylene and Ryan Studios; a business that prides itself on diversification. Kylene’s focus was always on weddings, which they now tackle side-by-side and even started offering a “fusion” video product to their clients. Ryan’s background was in large events, so they also photograph a private school in Tallahassee, week-long summer events for the American Legion, and endurance races such as marathons and triathlons (including some freelance work that allows them to travel the world).

Learn the tips and tricks of working with children, their parents, and getting the money shot

Posing with Purpose

SEMINAR DATE: APRIL 09, 2015 6-9PM AT KIRA DERRYBERRY PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO

Posing is often a “dirty” word in the age of photojournalistic photography, but often it is the difference between a happy client and an unhappy one. “Posing” does not have to mean stiff, uncomfortable or unnatural. What it means to a successful photographer is making your clients look their best so that they love you, spend lots of money and send you tons of referral business. Linda will teach posing in real life situations- for families, couples, boudoir, singles, etc. that can be applied to any genre of portrait photography.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

lindalongA true Carolina Girl, Linda came to Tallahassee in 1998 from the Palmetto state to become a Seminole. Still a loyal Clemson Tiger fan, Linda adores college football and her fall Saturdays revolve around gameday. With a severe addiction to Diet Dr. Pepper, Linda is often on a caffeine high as she juggles the busy studio and two wild boys at home (three if you count Olyn!) She has an obsession with all things bulldog, Loves things that sparkle and her favorite color is purple. She is a real nerd and plays word games and reads books non-stop. She has lots of awards for her photography, but still finds the hugs from her smallest clients to be the most rewarding part of her job.
